David H. Cloutier, Sr. passed away at home on, October 8, 2014, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born on October 1, 1935 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, he had just celebrated his 79th birthday. He was the son of the late Henry Joseph and Edna (Green) Cloutier. David worked for over 30 years at General Dynamics as an outside machinist and classroom instructor. He enjoyed the outdoors. David loved to hunt, fish, play horse shoes, darts and pool. In his youth he fought in the Korean War and traveled extensively throughout Europe. He especially loved Germany. David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Alice (Williams) Cloutier. He leaves behind six children: David H. Cloutier, Jr., Brian C. Shea, Timothy Cloutier, Kevin M. Shea, Bethany Rego and Keith O. Shea. He was predeceased by two children Jean Cloutier and Terry L. Shea. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street in Mystic, CT. on Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic, from 10am to 12Noon immediately followed by a service with the Rev. Dr. Mark Porizky officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southeastern Connecticut Hospice.
